Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Preparations for the grand gymnastic and artistic performance "Arirang" have come to an end in the DPRK.

Senior party and state officials and officials of the Cabinet, ministries and national institutions enjoyed the "July concert" given by the Unhasu Orchestra at the newly rebuilt Unhasu Theatre on Tuesday.

Its repertoire included prelude "Fortune of Korea", orchestra and chorus "My Country Is So Nice", Okryugum and female trio "Royal Azaleas in Taehongdan", narration and choruses "World of Yearning" and "Glory to Our Great Party".

The concert was acclaimed by the audience as it kept alive the nature of Korean music and showed the progress made by the Juche-based arts which developed on a new level through truthful artistic representation.

Extravaganza "Arirang" to be given

The grand mass gymnastics and artistic performance "Arirang", winner of Kim Il Sung Prize, is slated to be given in Pyongyang on the occasion of the 63rd founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The contents and forms of the extravaganza have been revised and replenished with eye-opening events taking place in the DPRK’s efforts to build a powerful and prosperous country, and the acoustic and lighting equipment and installations perfected with up-to-date ones.

"Arirang" will be performed at the May Day Stadium from August 1 to September 9.
